It is used for FactoryTalk communications. RSLinx Enterpise is a data server and Alarms & Events handler. Does anyone have any experience with OEM licenses not working with OPC properly?

And I'd love to just buy another Pro license, but they seem to be hard to come by from a distributor. I don't want to tell my customer to go buy an expensive Linx license and then find out it won't work. They're telling me an OEM license should work just fine and that Enterprise won't do what he wants it to do. I've spoken to Rockwell a few times about this, and they seem to disagree with him. He's saying we should use RSLinx Enterprise and that the license for that should just let the RSLinx Classic that's installed just work again.

He says, however, that the OEM and Gateway licenses won't work with the DAQ software they're using because of some issue with 3rd party OPC clients (It's a custom LabView program). The DAQ machine pulls tag data from 3-4 PLC systems in the building, so I assumed Classic OEM would do the job. Now I've spoken to my boss about what license we should get. At some point, the RSLinx Professional license was moved to another machine to use for some testing and never moved back. They've had the system working for a while, but it sat unused for about a year. My customer is running a DAQ machine (Windows XP SP2) to collect data from RSLinx OPC. I'm stuck in an infinite loop of confusion with the licenses for this software and I'm hoping someone on here might help shed some light for me.
